INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module is unique in that it is able to replace any Level 7 module where the module leader is absent for a substantial period of the module and this is known to be the case in advance. There is therefore no prescriptive syllabus for the module. Using Blackboard, students will access a reading list and any other resources required by them. They will develop a programme of study from these relating to an appropriate indicative content agreed by the module tutor and using a reading list which will be provided. The appropriate content will be dependent on the content of the module to be replaced. The allocated tutor will in addition, provide guidance, support and feedback to the students as s/he works independently to complete the project. Only one module can be replaced with this module.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will have an initial discussion with the tutor (either in person, by phone, Skype or e-mail) at which point they will be made aware of the situation and this module will be explained to them. They will produce a topic to be negotiated with the tutor within a week. The topic will be related to those covered in the module being replaced. A further discussion will take place where the topic is agreed and refined and a tutor allocated. Thereafter the student will engage via an appropriate method with the tutor for periods up to 12 hours in total. The frequency and duration of these sessions is to be negotiated between the student and the guidance supervisor.
