Learning Outcome 3 will be covered by the continued development of the Personal Development Plan during personal tutorials.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
To continue to develop study and transferable skills necessary for the satisfactory completion of a higher education business course and subsequent employment and career development.
The module will focus on communication, numeracy and IT Skills. Personal Development Planning will be ongoing in this module.
Topics covered in the module will be drawn from written communication skills (e.g. Business letters, letters of application, CV writing); oral communications (interveiw techniques).
The module will also introduce students to quantitative techniques for business covering equations and percentages in a business context; averages (mean, mode, median); probability; measures of dispersion; normal distribution; graphical representation of business information.

Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for this module is based around students committing a total of 150 hours of activities towards achieving the learning outcomes. These will be split between 39 hours of direct contact with a tutor and 111 hours of directed, guided and self-study, together with preparation for and completion of the assessment tasks. Learning support material will be provided for the module.
The module will draw upon a mixture of activities including lectures, web-based activities, case study analysis, relevant videos and in-class discussions, individual and group problem solving and self-directed learning.
