ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A written assignment assessing the strategic imperatives affecting the current and future workforce needs of an organisation. (4000 words) (100%) (Learning Outcomes 1- 4)
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module is intended to give the student an overview of the long-term, strategic demands on an organisation in relation to its human capital. Content follows a logical path through the employment life-cycle, from identifying future skills needs through strategic aspects of recruitment to managing talent and employee engagement.

• Demographic and other changes and their impact on recruitment and retention
• Identifying future skills needs across the organisation
• Introduction to employer branding and impact on recruitment and retention
• Identifying and managing talent

1. Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of the key principles of strategic human resources management, and talent management.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
The learning strategy for this module requires students to commit 300 learning hours (including assessment). This will include 36 hours of class support and 264 hours of independent and self-directed study.
The class sessions will include formal lecture, student exercises, case study analysis, presentations and group discussions based on student experiences in the subject area. Students will be encouraged to integrate their work based experiences with new knowledge and skills developed in the classroom as the module progresses.
