Indicative Content
You will learn about the key and contemporary issues associated with learning and development in the workplace. Calling upon literature and research from across the fields of Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour and Employment Relations. This module examines key issues in the field of employee voice and representation.

Double-breasting and multiple channels

Traditional and newer forms of representation

Employers and Voice

Line managers and employee voice

Employee Silence

Collective Bargaining (inc national versus local level bargaining)

Equality Bargaining

Individual forms of voice

Consultation versus negotiation

Additional Assessment Details
A 2,500 word written assessment asking students to critically consider a specific aspect of employee voice or representation (a choice of essay questions). LOs 1-3
Learning Strategies
Scheduled learning and teaching activities.
To consist of:
Face-to-face which will include groupwork, formal teaching, case study analysis, guest speakers and students will be encouraged to share their workplace experiences with others

Guided independent study:
To consist of:
Independent reading to consolidate knowledge gained in the formal teaching
Undertaking formative tasks set by the tutor to consolidate learning
Assessment preparation and writing and gathering evidence
