ASSESSMENT DETAILS
1. A work-place or case study based assignment (if more appropriate).
Words should not exceed 2,500, excluding references and appendices. (LO 1-3)
(weighting 70%)
2. An assignment (reflection on skills development) - 1,000 word reflection on the contribution to the group experience and their personal experiences of the skills and attribute development element of the programme.
(LO 4). (30% weighting).
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module combines the behavioural aspects of Human Capital Management with the essentials of leadership in practice, including effective people management processes and techniques. Students will develop and reflect on a range of management and interpersonal skills. Topics that may be developed include the behavioural dimension of people management, the HRM function, the linkage between HRM strategies and business strategy, people resourcing and development and performance and reward. It will also consider the forces shaping HRM at work, including the international landscape, ethics and sustainability.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will engage in structured learning prior to attending an intensive study week at the University's campus. The study week will, through discussion, debate and application, explore the learning students engaged in prior to attending the University. Following the study week and prior to completing assessment students will engage with guided learning which will consolidate all new knowledge and understanding.
