Module Details
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Students will be required to produce a 3,000 word (equivalent) assignment that will reflect personal research into an individually chosen topic using an individually agreed method of presentation e.g. poster, essay, media presentation, management report etc.

In accordance with the principles of PPBL, the assessment choice will have to be supported by a well-informed case study that is subject to discussion with the module leaders.

The assignment will include a 500 word minimum (equivalent) element reflecting critically on the relevant underpinning organisational agility & drive for results management & leadership competencies as they relate to this module.

Charactering contemporary management challenges in organizational behaviour using case examples to demonstrate:
• New approaches to understanding the way that people work
• Trend and developments in OB on the global stage

Developing management & leadership competency & practice in HRM.
Recognising organizational misbehaviour
Exercising contemporary expectations and organizational control.

Contemporary issues in HRM examples including:
• Impact of changes in employment and economic legislation
• Global HR strategies and cross cultural workforce management
• Work intensification and changing patterns of work
• Health and well-being
• Ethics, governance and CSR from consent to engagement
• Social media and resourcing
• Reconceptualising employee performance
• Critical issues in diversity and equality.

1. Analyse complex problem/practice based case examples from a critical people management perspective

LEARNING STRATEGIES
The learning strategies will be student centred and will focus on practice/problem based learning with supported asynchronous activities incorporating individual and group-based learning development experiences.

This module can also be undertaken as part of the Blended Learning (BL) delivery pattern. BL is defined as the thoughtful integration of each of the following in order to maximise student flexibility:
- Independent study (student reading/research and assessment preparation);
- Guided independent study (homework, group tasks and e-support in Blackboard);
- Online scheduled contact time (at least 10% of total contact time is online lessons where the tutor is ‘present’) and
- Classroom contact time.
