Comprising:
1. evidence of work done (recordings/cuttings)
2. an employer statement detailing student performance
3. a student-written report (2,000 words in total) comprising four components:
a. research findings on local sports media (600 words)
b. analysis of the placement experience (600 words)
c. a diary of the placement (600 words)
d. a reflective evaluation (200 words)

Module Indicative Content
Students will be briefed to carry out research into sports media workplaces in their localities, identifying and then negotiating a work placement or work placements, with an advised maximum of two placement organisations. They will then undertake a structured introduction to the placement organisation, monitored by the module tutor and the employer. Students and employers will have continual consultation with the module tutor. The employer will deliver a formal statement of the students' performance. Students will maintain and submit recordings/cuttings and/or other evidence of work done on the placement. Students will also produce and submit 2,000 words clearly structured to include the report of research into suitable workplaces, a report on the placement, a workplace diary and a reflective evaluation.
Module Learning Strategies
Whole class briefings, group and individual tutorials and ongoing consultation = 20 hours
Researching, identifying, contacting and negotiating placements = 100 hours
Attendance in the workplace = 120 hours
Preparation, enquiry and writing = 60 hours
