INDICATIVE CONTENT
Students are introduced into the professional sports media workplace environment and are expected to research the role of that sports media (and any other similar associated organisations) and compare/contrast those roles while also establishing and developing effective working practices, routines and relationships within their organisation(s), with an advised maximum of (but not limited to) two placements agreed with the module tutor. Students are required to demonstrate competence in a range of responsibilities and duties in the process of delivering sports media output, to be assessed using the criteria detailed in the learning outcomes. This includes a focus on individual contribution to the organisation, to be demonstrated by accumulating recordings/cuttings and/or other evidence of personal input. The necessity to fully embrace the operations of the placement organisation(s) is also essential for students to succeed in producing a 4,000 word case study of the organisation(s) which will include a detailed reflection/evaluation of their own input to that organisation.
