Module Details
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Students will choose from either:
100% essay OR
50% presentation plus 50% essay.

Students will be offered a range of essay options around analysing the changes in the business of journalism, or propose their own ideas for new content-led products and deliver that as a presentation plus essay.
Essay word count will vary according the assessment option chosen and whether it is being studied at level 5 or 6, and range from 2,500w for the essay in the presentation plus essay option at level 5, to 4,500w for the essay only option at Level 6.

INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module introduces students to changes in the business of journalism, focusing on journalism's relationship with technology and the role of the innovator or entrepreneur. It looks at where journalism may be going, technically and ethically, and considers new techniques employed by journalists and content-led businesses both to gather news and to deliver it to a changing audience.
