Additional Assessment Details
A portfolio including a report (2,500 words) comprising of a media case study, a workplace diary and a reflective evaluation. Any evidence of work done (cuttings/recordings) should also be included in the report, as an appendix. The placement employer will also be required to complete an assessment sheet of performance [Learning Outcomes 1-6].
Indicative Content
Students are introduced into the professional sports media workplace environment and are expected to research the role of that sports media (and any other similar associated organisations) and compare/contrast those roles while also establishing and developing effective working practices, routines and relationships within their organisation(s), with an advised maximum of (but not limited to) two placements agreed with the module tutor. Students are required to demonstrate understanding in a range of responsibilities and duties in the process of delivering sports media output, to be assessed using the criteria detailed in the learning outcomes. The necessity to fully understand the operations of the placement organisation(s) is also essential for a student to succeed in producing a 2,500 word case study of the organisation(s) which will include a detailed reflection/evaluation.
