Module Details
Module Indicative Content
Journalists are increasingly required to not only have the knowledge and skills to work with words but also, because of changing practices, multimedia operations, advanced low-cost printing technology and the digital revolution, to think and work in pictures. It is essential to be able to spot a story?s picture potential and understand how to exploit it. This module introduces level three students who already have significant news awareness and newswriting ability to the technical and creative aspects of photojournalism. The module concentrates on the techniques of taking, manipulating and using pictures in conjunction with appropriate text, using digital cameras.
Module Additional Assessment Details

Additionally, a set of four original colour pictures each to an approximate A4 size, suitable for a magazine picture page, on a single subject different from the monochrome, with a separate layout of the pictures containing an appropriate headline, captions and original copy.
