ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Students will create original content for the Square Peg Gamers blog, and/or for a blog the student has designed and set up. They will also contribute content to the Square Peg Gamers YouTube channel (vlog) created for this module, and may also produce video content for their own channel on YouTube or on Twitch.
They will work alone on some projects and will also participate in, and take turns in leading, production and/or editorial teams.
The blog/vlog will have a clearly-defined target audience, with content, design, presentation and writing styles to reflect audience expectations and needs.
Students will produce a portfolio of content both in class and in their own time, to include work set as in-class assessment pieces and will also be assessed on work produced by the team they led.
The portfolio will include both written and video content, with a minimum of 4,500 words total (and/or video equivalent)

INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module develops student's technical skills further while also developing their ability to lead small production and/or editorial teams to deadline – preparing them for real-world working.
Students will also develop their entrepreneurial abilities and knowledge in producing content for gamers and the gaming industry. Including: understanding and building audiences, SEO, user interaction, producing effective content, and producing more technically and editorially complex blog and video packages.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
12 x seminar/workshops (3 hours) = 36 hours
Demonstrating and developing the knowledge and skills underpinning successful blogging and vlogging, particularly in relation to production/editorial team-produced content.
Independent learning = 114 hours
Developing and employing acquired skills in blog/vlog production for specified audiences and building portfolio of games journalism and packages.
