Module Indicative Content
This module will run in both Semester 1 and Semester 2. You will be introduced to the Law of Tort and explore the notion of individual responsibility as a key theme. You will be introduced to the common law and statutory forms of negligence develop and awareness of the influences operating on development of this area of tort. You will also consider the novel duty situations such as economic loss and psychiatric damage. You will develop such skills as reading case law, presentation skills and solving legal problems.
Module Learning Strategies
These Learning Strategies will occupy your time. There are 24 weeks of normal classes including two reading weeks. Lectures provide a basic framework of concepts and principles. Classes will also include interactive learning activities such as group discussion, presentations, tests, video, web-based activities and written formative and summative assessments.
