Module Indicative Content
This module will run in both Semester 1 and Semester 2. You will be introduced to the elements of a crime and explore the concept of actus reus and mens rea within the context of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. You will then go on to further develop your understanding of these key concepts through the Homocide offences. This module will be studied alongside the appropriate themes of morality and justice and all Learners will participate in a Mock Trial.

All of the Learning Outcomes will be assessed by :
- 1 x Poster & 10 minute Presentation - (completed in your own time and presented to assessor) 50%
- 1 x Electronic Assessment 50%
Module Learning Strategies
These Learning Strategies will occupy your time. There are 24 weeks of normal classes including two reading weeks. Lectures provide a basic framework of concepts and principles. Classes will also include interactive learning activities such as group discussion, presentations, tests, video, web-based activities and written formative and summative assessments.
