Module Learning Strategies
WHOLE GROUP SESSIONS - Lectures designed to facilitate the distribution of general information and to provide an overview of the current topic in the syllabus. These sessions will be supplemented with handout materials of varying comprehensiveness. 2 HOURS PER WEEK FOR 12 WEEKS = 24 HOURS
SMALL GROUP SESSIONS - May be tutor or student led (with tutor present). These require students to prepare answers to problem questions and be ready to discuss these. Held fortnightly to reflect the importance and extent of preparation by the student. 5 HOURS
INDEPENDENT STUDY - Consists of preparation by reading relevant texts and lecture materials for the work to be undertaken in the tutorials. Students are also encouraged to use this time to produce and organise their own stock of learning materials. Specific lecture handouts provided in whole group sessions will identify where information may be obtained and further reading. Students will be presented with the assignment questions at the start of the module's delivery and this time may thus be used preparing the work to be submitted. 121 HOURS
