Module Learning Strategies
Whole group sessions will be used to introduce broad concepts but will also involve some workshop exercises - 2 hour per week for 22 weeks = 44 hours.

Small group tutorials will be used to explore the topics studied in greater depth using a variety of learning strategies including problem solving, online research exercises and pyramiding exercises - 5 hours per semester = 10 hours.

Directed Study will include preparation for small group sessions and assessments - 246 hours

TOTAL LEARNING TIME = 300 hours.
Module Indicative Content
The 5 main strands of export & international trade law are:

- The contract of export sales of goods
- The contract of carriage of goods by sea, for export trade
- The contract of finance of export trade
- The contract of insurance of export trade
- Conflicts of laws - international contracts, choice of laws, dispute resolutions, enforcements of foreign judgements (Note - We will NOT be dealing with this area in great depth)
Module Additional Assessment Details
Details: -
Teaching Block 1:- A 3,000 word Assignment, weighted at 50% will assess Learning Outcomes 1 - 6
Teaching Block 2:- A 2 hour Examination, weighted at 50%, will assess Learning Outcomes 1 - 5.

A formative assessment will take place prior to the summative assessment

To pass the module, students must obtain an average mark of at least 40% and a mark of at least 20% in each component.
