Module Indicative Content
This module will cover the following areas -
1. Ethics
2. Theory and research
3. Positivisms - scientific, logical and legal - Understanding the effect of seeing law as a distinct corpus.
4. Quantitative and Qualitative research - Comparing the two most generally used approaches of research.
5. Research Proposals - The practical aspect of writing a proposal
Module Additional Assessment Details
One formative assessment on the nature of ethical research.
One summative assessment consisting of a research proposal (3,000 words) assessing learning outcomes (1-2).
Module Learning Strategies
This module will be strongly student centred. It will be delivered through a series of 5 x 2 hour seminars supported by student research and personal study and there will be an additional five hours of student guidance, supervision and support. Students will follow a set pattern contained in the module handbook.
