Module Special Admissions Requirements
Students must have studied Domestic Partnership Law 1

Students who have not studied (English) Family Law at undergraduate level must speak with the module leader before undertaking Domestic
Partnership Law 1 (LWM62017-M) which is a pre-requisite of Domestic Partnership Law 2 (this module)
Module Additional Assessment Details
One piece of formative assessment consisting of a written summary of a 20 minute verbal presentation given on an aspect of Domestic Partnership Law (learning outcome 4)

One summative assessment of 3,000 words counting for 100% (learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3)
Module Indicative Content
Students are required to show an informed and at the same time critical understanding of the English system of domestic partnerships found in Family Law in the UK. Domestic Partnership Law B focuses on the `dysfunctional' aspects of Domestic Partnership Law.

The module will cover the following areas -
1. Domestic Violence and other aspects of `dysfunctional' families and the Domestic Partnership.
2. Domestic Partnership Separation, Divorce and Dissolution law.
3. Post-partnership and the legal issues relating to resolving financial and property issues.

Module Learning Strategies
This module will be student centred. It will be delivered through a series of 5x 2 hour seminars supported by student research and personal study and there will be an additional five hours of student guidance, supervision and support. Students will follow a pattern contained in the module handbook. A formative assessment will be used to encourage research on the subject area and presentation and discussion of the issues raised in seminars.
