One piece of formative assessment on listing of company securities.
One summative assessment of 3,000 words counting for 100% (learning outcomes 1- 3)
Module Indicative Content
1. Legislation and case law on corporate finance.
2. The methods available to a public company for raising finance.
3. The constitution/powers of regulatory bodies such as: The London Stock Exchange, the UK Listing Authority (Financial Services Authority) and the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers.
4. Liability for documentation issued to the public for raising finance
5. Share notifications, pre-emption rights and takeovers.
6. Continuing obligations of a company once listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Module Learning Strategies
This module will be strongly student centred. It will be delivered through a series of 5x 2 hour seminars supported by student research and personal study and there will be an additional five hours of student guidance, supervision and support. Students will follow a set pattern contained in the module handbook. A formative assessment will be used to encourage research on the subject area.
