Module Learning Strategies
This module will be strongly student centred. It will be delivered through a series of 5x 2 hour seminars supported by student research and personal study and there will be an additional five hours of student guidance, supervision and support. Students will follow a set pattern contained in the module handbook. A formative assessment will be used to encourage research on the subject area.

An individual literature review for formative assessment
One piece of summative assessment a written paper of 5000 words (Assesses Learning Outcomes 1-3) 100% of assessment

This module will cover the following areas -
- Confidentiality of healthcare information
- The origins of life - moral and legal status of the embryo, embryo research
- Abortion and neonaticide
- Assisted reproduction
- Organ transplanatation - live and cadaveric donors
- Ending life - euthanasia
