LEARNING STRATEGIES
The learning strategy for this module is based around problem-based and authentic learning experiences to enhance post graduate skills for future employability and lifelong learning. Class contact will centre around a weekly 3 hour workshop which will include a mixture of whole group and small group activities to recreate problem-based and authentic learning scenarios and events. Students will be able to practise and develop oral and written communication skills, presentations, case-based scenarios as well as consideration of contemporary issues to enhance knowledge and understanding.

The guided learning will incorporate a mixture of activities, some of which will require team work and online discussion. The learning will be facilitated by use of the VLE platform and discussions/interactions between students and tutors.
There will be preparatory work for students to complete in advance of workshop sessions.

This module can also be undertaken as part of the Blended Learning (BL) delivery pattern. BL is defined as the thoughtful integration of each of the following in order to maximise student flexibility:
- Independent study (student reading/research and assessment preparation);
- Guided independent study (homework, group tasks and e-support in Blackboard);
- Online scheduled contact time (at least 10% of total contact time is online lessons where the tutor is ‘present’) and
- Classroom contact time.
Learning activities may include (this list is not exclusive):
- Presentation activities;
- Structured discussion activities;
- Group work activities;
- Reflection activities;
- Formative and summative assessment activities;
- Problem-based learning activities.
