Assessment One: Showcase 100%
A professionally presented 8 -10 minute performance showcase in front of an audience demonstrating your performance prowess and versatility, supported by an online portfolio aimed at employment as an entry level performer.

INDICATIVE CONTENT
A Performance Showcase is an opportunity for musicians, actors, dancers and musical theatre practitioners to present their material for the purpose of attracting and securing employment. This module is designed to give you the opportunity to reflect on previous practical training and develop a performance (or performances) that showcases your talent and versatility. It is expected that you will showcase your ability by presenting work across a range of styles, demonstrating your versatility as a performer whilst also focussing on your individual strengths. A coherent and detailed understanding of the current professional environment of your chosen specialism and global employment opportunities should inform your evaluative decisions regarding choice and style of performance material. This in turn should develop you as a thinking performer, aware of your personal performance strengths and limitations, enabling you in future to make informed, educated decisions when applying for suitable auditions / castings / session opportunities.

In order to present a suitable range of evidence, you may choose to draw on previous work but you must include current performance material. Your Showcase should be thoughtfully created to a highly professional standard, clearly communicating your preferred performance potential.

You will deliver an 8 -10 minute performance of your showcase to an audience (typically tutors with industry experience and other industry professionals) demonstrating an appropriate combination of skills, and respond to feedback on the various aspects of your performance and advice on how to move forward. You will also produce a record of your showcase and present it utilising an appropriate online platform for the purpose of communicating your performance potential to prospective employers worldwide.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Whilst you will be spending the majority of your time in guided independent study and rehearsal, you will also participate in the following activities:
