Module Indicative Content
Numeracy:arithmetic operations, percentages, powers, roots, average.
Algebra: Laws of indices, logarithms, factorisation, solution of equations, transformation of formulae.
Trigonometry: graphs, general solution of simple trigonometric equations.
Calculus: differentiation of simple functions, products, quotients, composites; application to extrema problems; definite and indefinite integrals.
EXCEL: Introduction to spreadsheets.
Module Learning Strategies
Core theoretical material will be delivered through lectures (24 hours), while tutorials and computer laboratory sessions (12 hours) group size 20, will give opportunities to apply techniques to a variety of practical problems.
