Module Learning Strategies
The material will be introduced through lectures (2 hours per week), examples classes , tutorials and practicals ( 2 hours per week), together with supplementary MAPLE material to be accessed via the web.

Introduction to MAPLE.
Further calculus.
Complex numbers.
Matrices.
Additional trigonometry and additional basic maths.
Probability.

100% in-course assessment.

A portfolio of two tests (each 1 hour long) assessing the understanding of the techniques and the applications (this will cover learning outcomes 1 and 2) and an assignment using a mathematical package testing the implementation of more sophisticated examples (this will cover learning outcome 3).
