Module Indicative Content
An introduction to the features of MAPLE including algebraic manipulation, calculus ,linear algebra,statistics and numerical methods. To work through standard worksheets on topics in these areas including packages on statistics, vectors and numerical methods.
An introduction to C software programming using Visual C/C++. Declaration of variables, simple IO functions ,conditional statements and loops, arrays and functions. Examples using engineering and technological applications.
Module Learning Strategies
The material will be introduced via lectures (12 hours) and practicals (24 hours) and a drop-in session (12 hours).
Typically there will be 1 hour lecture, 2 hour practicals and 1 hour drop-in per week.
