Module Learning Strategies
On-line resources will demonstrate and explain fundamental mathematical concepts and techniques with integrated exercises to provide an opportunity to practice the techniques and help reinforce understanding. Students will also be directed to utilise internet materials e.g. LTSN Mathcentre website.
As stated above regular tests and an assignment will assess the level of understanding attained.
Email backup support will also be available.
Module Additional Assessment Details
1. Staged Class test (weighted 70%). Several short Blackboard tests of maximum duration 20 minutes will be spread throughout the module. (Learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3)
2. Assignment (weighted 30%). Several short mathematical problems set in various contexts. (Learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3)
The test and assignment schedules will be published at the beginning of each delivery. A sample of students may be selected for oral examination on any of the assessments.
