Module Indicative Content
Numeracy:arithmetic operations, percentages, powers, roots, average.
Algebra: Laws of indices, logarithms, factorisation, solution of equations, transformation of formulae.
Trigonometry: graphs, general solution of simple trigonometric equations.
Calculus: differentiation of simple functions, products, quotients, composites; application to extrema problems; definite and indefinite integrals.
Module Learning Strategies
Core theoretical material will be delivered through lectures (24 hours), while tutorial sessions (12 hours) will give opportunities to apply techniques to a variety of practical problems.
Delivery will typically be 2 hours lecture and 1 hour tutorial/practical per week.
