Module Learning Strategies
You will be provided with material through an Electronic Distributed Learning Environment (for example, Blackboard). The material will be presented via printable handouts and electronic presentations. These will include worked examples to illustrate how solutions to problems are developed. It is important that you keep up to date with the schedule and work through tutorial exercises provided to ensure your understanding of the material. Support will be provided via a discussion group on Blackboard and email and/or telephone contact with the module tutor(s).
Module Indicative Content
Numeracy:arithmetic operations, percentages, powers, roots, average.
Algebra: Laws of indices, logarithms, factorisation, solution of equations, transformation of formulae.
Trigonometry: graphs, general solution of simple trigonometric equations.
Calculus: differentiation of simple functions, application to extrema problems; definite and indefinite integrals.
