Prior study of CE61014-4 Mathematics and Statistics for Computing Students, or CE61015-4 Mathematical Foundations, or CE61010-4 Balancing Maths for Engineering or equivalent.
Module Resources
An advanced computer algebra package such as MAPLE.
A spreadsheet such as EXCEL.
A high level computer language such as that incorporated within MAPLE.
Module Learning Strategies
The material will be introduced over 36 hours consisting of 18 hour lectures and 18 hours practicals. Ths will usually be delivered as 2 lectures and 1 practical per week for the first 9 weeks, and 3 practicals per week for the final 3 weeks.

Module Additional Assessment Details

100% in course assessment.
1. A group (student numbers permitting otherwise individual) project weighted 40% assessed by a group (student numbers permitting otherwise individual) 15 minute presentation and individual 1200 word reports (1, 2, 3 and 4)
2. An individual project weighted 60% assessed by a 2000 word individual report (1, 2, 3 and 4)
