Module Indicative Content
Fractal simulations. Queuing simulations. Coding and compression.
Symbolic and Numerical Differentiation (including its finite differences form for discrete functions).
Symbolic and Numerical Integration (including its summation form for discrete functions).
2 and 3 D Geometric Modelling: Conics and Quadrics in Cartesian and Parametric Forms. Line-line intersection, line-plane intersection.
Differentiation applied to geometry modelling. Splines.
Module Learning Strategies
The material will be introduced over 36 hours consisting of 12 hours lectures, 12 hours tutorials and 12 hours practicals. This will usually be delivered as 1 lecture, 1 tutorial and 1 practical per week.

In addition, students must possess a suitable calculator of their own with trigonometric and logarithmic functions.
