Module Indicative Content
1. Ordinary Differential Equations (Nonlinear pendulum, 1st order systems, phase plane analysis, equilibrium points, periodic solutions and limit cycles, examples and analysis of strange attractors, numerical methods)
2. Partial Differential Equations (Classification into diffusion equation, Laplace equation and wave equation. Applications and simple numerical methods.)
Module Learning Strategies
Delivery of material via lectures (2 hours per week) and a tutorial/laboratory session (1 hour per week) to practice techniques and for hands-on investigation.
