Systems approach to problem solving in manufacturing.
Introduction to Manufacturing Systems engineering and modern philosophies.
Types of production systems and plant layouts.
Comparative appraisals of different systems.
Introduction to a range of Manufacturing System philosophies and tools.
Introduction to Human Resource issues in manufacturing.
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% In-course assessed by two case study analyses (each worth 50%).
Assignment 1 (1500 words) will assess learning outcomes 1 and 4.
Assignment 2 (1500 words) will assess learning outcomes 2 and 3.
