Module Indicative Content
Computer based 3D modelling, creation of basic features via extrude, revolve, sweep, fillet chamfer and shell functions. Understand parametric relationships. Creation of engineering drawings from 3D models.
Dimensioning, tolerancing (dimensional, geometrical and surface finish) to BS8888
Assembly drawing
Basic shaping processes, processing as 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Basic joining processes
Basic modelling and sketching techniques
Communication (including presentation skills, report writing)
Project and resource planning.

Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework length 2000 WORDS and 10 minute presentation weighted at 100%.

A single problem based exercise, providing proof of achievement of assessing learning outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Weighted at 100%
Typically 2,000 word report with 2D and 3D CAD drawings 70%. Also models of products. A ten minute presentation on design principles 30%.
