Module Indicative Content
In this module the student is expected to develop a learning contract that will inform the rest of their negotiated award. The contract will form the link between the individual's goals, the needs of the employing organisation and the University's academic and modular frameworks. The contract will identify all the other learning activities that the student expects to undertake to reach their final chosen award. The learning agreement, together with diagnostic questionnaires, will be used to identify areas where APL is appropriate.
Module Additional Assessment Details
The assessment will consist of:-
Accepted learning contract (Learning Outcomes 1, 2)
Module Learning Strategies
The student will be supervised on a one to one basis. Because of the nature of WBL it is not possible to limit the duration of the project to a fixed timescale, but for resourcing purposes the model used will be (1:1)0.25 for 12 weeks.
Students will carry out this work while in their place of work, supported by a mentor to provide guidance on the needs of the organisation, and by academic staff in terms of aligning this to the University framework.
Contact with staff will be on either an individual or small group basis to provide support in developing the learning contract. There will be formal contact with the mentor on a monthly basis.
The module is supported by use of the Blackboard VLE, which will be used to provide communication between participants in the course, access to resources and formative assessment exercises.
