Module Learning Strategies
The method of teaching is 1 formal 2-hr lecture per week plus 3 x 1-hr tutorials and 3 x 3-hr laboratory sessions.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A COURSEWORK weighted at 100%. This will assess learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Coursework part 1: Students will carry out individually research work. The outcomes of the research will be submitted in the form of a formal written report (approx 1500 words) - this is weighted at 50% of the module grade and assesses learning outcomes 1, 2 and 4 (Written communication).
- Coursework part 2: Students will conduct 4 laboratory based experiments, maintain laboratory Log book. This is weighted at 50% of the module, and will assess learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 & 4 (Verbal communication and presentation skills).
