Course work of length 3000 words weighted at 100%
Coursework assessing all Learning Outcomes.
Reflective report/portfolio that covers:
Research into teaching and learning theories
Pre – teaching/training event planning
Reflection on the delivery and outcomes of teaching/training.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
Carry out training or teaching of staff within the work environment on a technical or management issue as appropriate to the award and organisation.
As part of the process the student will research teaching and learning theories and apply these to the development of a workplace specific teaching event or training course. Additionally, the student will define learning outcomes and develop a relevant delivery structure. The student will design and develop appropriate teaching and learning activities with the content of the teaching/training being relevant to the award being studied.
Following the teaching, the student will reflect on the pre-course planning in relation to the delivery of the teaching/training activities. Additionally, the student will reflect on the success of the planning in achieving learning outcomes.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1) Plan & develop a short teaching event for staff with your organisation on a technical or management issue as appropriate to the specific award and organisation.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Induction - 1 hour (group of all students) or 1:1 on site or distance learning
Skype/telephone/email discussions (4 hours @ 20 minutes per week per student maximum)
Distance Learning using the Blackboard VLE.
Use of libraries and on-line research.
This work will be undertaken within the company with support from the mentor, and academic support in developing the reflective documents used for assessment.
Feedback from students and or peers will be useful for reflection and evaluation.
