Scope of management of technology and organisations structures.
Enterprise (infra) structure for adding value and global competitiveness and managing innovation.
Technological systems methodologies, management and control.
Role of Information Technology for enabling technological system management and enhancing life cycles.
Introduction to management philosophies and/or techniques
to provide an integrative approach to organisational planning.
Financial aspects of product life cycle management.

Principles of Logistics management.
Logistics planning and strategic development
Understanding of warehousing, materials handling and transportation issues.
Development of the supply chain.
Distribution resource management
World Class Manufacturing characteristics and techniques
Development of strategic frameworks - knowledge and understanding of techniques used.
Analysis of manufacturing and logistics strategic implementation - critical approval of alternative approaches.
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% of in-course assessment comprising of:-
- Two case analysis assignments which underpin the main thrust of the module (50% each) (assessing Learning outcomes 1-4).
Module Learning Strategies
2 hours per week will comprise formal lecture time
1 hour per week tutorial/seminar sessions

A limited amount of lectures on some topics, in order to introduce the subject and to guide the student, will be enhanced by the provision of detailed information and sources of information. Students will be encouraged to work in teams in order to analyse the case studies. These will aim to provide the experience necessary to achieve the learning outcomes of the module.
