Module Indicative Content
For this module, students will use and gain an understanding of planning software in a motorsport environment - which types are available, scope of use.
Concept of lifing components and its practicality in reliability enhancement - where it came from and why it matters, consequences of not lifing
An understanding of Metal Fatigue, Fasteners and Torque Settings all play a part in reliability.
Module Learning Strategies
The core material will be delivered by a series of lectures (9 x 1 hour). Tutorial slots of one hour per week will be available for student discussion and interaction, where further research and practical discussion will be developed. (9 x 1hour)
The aim of the module is that students can understand that reliability in motorsport is gained through science and engineering out failure and potential failure.
