Biaxial stress fields, axisymmetric stress analysis, yield criteria, strain energy methods, buckling of struts. forced damped vibrations of single degree of freedom systems, torsional vibration, force transmissibility, balancing of rotating and reciprocating masses, Graphical determination of principle stresses and strains.

Examination - unseen in exam conditions length 2 hours weighted at 50% which will assess Learning Outcome 1
An assignment weighted at 50% which will assess Learning Outcome 2 and 3
