Module Learning Strategies
A limited amount of lectures(20 hours) (in order to introduce the subject and to guide the student) will be enhanced by the provision of detailed information and sources of information. Students will be encouraged to work in teams in order to analyse the case studies. These will aim to provide the experience necessary to achieve the learning outcomes of the module.

Principles of Logistics management.
Logistics planning and strategic devlopment
Understanding of warehousing, materials handling and transportation issues.
Development of the supply chain.
Distribution resource management
World Class Manufacturing characteristics and techniques
Development of strategic frameworks - knowledge and understanding of techniques used.
Analysis of manufacturing and logistics strategic implementation - critical approval of alternative approaches.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Two individual assignments weighted at 50% each. Using two case studies, students will demonstrate the learning outcomes by analysis, discussion and reflection.
