Assignment weighting 50% involving a 2500 word written investigation into an outline engine design specification will assess learning outcomes 1 and 2.
Module Indicative Content
Four stroke and two stroke engine operating cycles.
Operation and requirements of primary engine components and sub-systems.
Theories of thermodynamics (ideal air standard cycles) and the comparison of ideal cycles with mechanical cycles.
