Module Details
Module Indicative Content
The HND Project module provides students with the opportunity to use and develop their specific engineering skills, knowledge and experiences.

- The project’s topic will be negotiated and agreed with an individual supervisor who will maintain weekly contact throughout the module.

- Students will be expected to evaluate, analyse and reflect on their self-development and the decisions made during the course of the project.

- It is expected that the projects will have an intellectual depth appropriate to a Higher National Diploma, where the literature survey shows breadth as well as variety of sources to include internet, journals and books on a chosen subject.

- Students will be expected to draw on experiences from a range of modules that they have studied or currently studying.

- Typical projects might include the following:-

1. Design, construction and testing of prototype equipment.
2. Implementation of an engineering system, involving hardware and/or software.
3. Review, analyse and evaluation of a specified technological practice or system.
4. Commission a piece of equipment and provide training manuals and written procedures.
