Indicative Content
This module will introduce students to the product design cycle and working to a specification to design a product. Students will develop research skills and learn how to work as part of a team and to project manage. It will be necessary to apply knowledge and skills that have already been learned and to develop skills specific to the project undertaken. There will be an emphasis on practical product realisation.
Learning Strategies
The majority of this module is group work, using laboratory, library and on line resources.
Where possible an industrial related brief will be used as the basis for the project and this is supported by group tutorials and student led presentations. It will be necessary to apply knowledge and skills that have already been learned and to research in unfamiliar areas.
