Module Details
Module Learning Outcomes
1) Plan & develop a short teaching event of a minimum of one hour (can be split into shorter events) for staff within your organisation on a technical or management topic as appropriate to the specific award and organisation.

2) Teaching delivery followed by reflection on planning in relation to course delivery and achieving outcomes.

Module Indicative Content
Carry out training or teaching of staff within the work environment on a technical or management issue as appropriate to the award and organisation.

As part of the process the student will research teaching and learning theories as well as coaching, then apply the research to the development of a workplace specific teaching event or training course. The student will identify learning outcomes for a specific teaching event or training course and develop appropriate teaching and learning activities based on the researched theory. Before the learning event takes place, the student will develop a teaching plan and ultimately reflect on this following the specific teaching event or training course.

Following the teaching event, the student will reflect on the approach taken to delivering the teaching and the learning activities undertaken.

Module Assessment Details
The module will be assessed in two parts.
1) Development of a teaching plan for the specified teaching event or training course – weighted at 40%

2) Reflective report/portfolio (1500 words) on the research into teaching and learning theories, approach taken to delivering the teaching on learning event, the learning activities undertaken and outcomes of teaching/training – weighted at 60

Module Learning Strategies
Induction - 1 hour (group of all students) or 1:1 on site or distance learning
Blackboard Collaborate/telephone/email discussions (4 hours @ 20 minutes per week per student maximum)

Distance Learning using the Blackboard VLE.
Use of library and on-line research.
This work will be undertaken within the company with support from the mentor, and academic support in developing the reflective documents used for assessment.
Feedback from students and or peers will be useful for reflection and evaluation.
