Written Report - typically 6000 words (Learning Outcome 1,2,3)
Oral presentations, 10 minutes (Learning Outcome 4)
Module Special Admissions Requirements
Level 2 of Engineering award or equivalent.
Module Indicative Content
The project will be practical and investigative, requiring the student to investigate the existing background, theories and knowledge as applied to a problem in the design and/or operation of an existing or new process or product. By practical measurement, design, implementation and above all, creativity, the student will arrive at a solution based on sound engineering principles. The project will be integrative, deploying and extending the range of skills and knowledge previously and concurrently developed on the student's chosen award.
Module Learning Strategies
Contact Hours - a minimum of 20 minutes contact per student per week.
1: 1 and small group tutorials with supervisor
Student centred learning to include laboratory work, research and report writing
