Health and safety management : Health and safety legislation, risk assessment and loss prevention, emergency procedures, occupational health,
Environmental management : environmental law including IPPC requirements, conducting an environmental review, requirements and implementation of ISO14001 / EMAS, waste minimisation, environmental engineering - process design, waste treatment.
Ethics- its scope and issues in the engineering sector.
Personal development as a professional engineer seeking future registration as CEng.

A preparatory report for a proposed project, including Health and Safety based risk assessment, literature survey, ethical assessment, project plan and resources 'shopping list' 2500 words, 60%, Learning outcomes 1, 3 and 4.
A logbook detailing background work, sources and reflective comment on work undertaken & personal direction. 40%, Learning outcomes 1, 2.
