1 Team assignment maximum 2000 words (30%) which will assess Learning Outcomes 1 & 2. (Final assessment)
1 examination, 3 hours (70%) which will assess Learning outcomes 3 - 6.
Module Indicative Content
- Analysis and evaluation of performance of fossil fuel related clean technology systems and power generation.
Topics covered include:-
particulate control e.g. gravity settlers centrifugal separators, electrostatic precipitators, filters and scrubbers,
fossil fuel combustion,
pollution dispersal modelling and stack design.

- Power Plants:- Steam generation power plants, Steam turbines, Condensers, Feed pumps, Steam Boilers. Gas turbine cycles, Brayton cycle. Cogeneration (CHP) plants, Electricity and Thermal Energy plants.
- Renewable Energy Power Plants such as Biomass and Biofuels.
Module Special Admissions Requirements
Prior study of CE20043-4 Thermodynamics or equivalent.
