An assignment weighted 50% which will assess learning outcomes 2, 3 and 4.
An examination - Unseen in examination conditions length 2 hours weighted at 50% which will assess learning outcomes 1, 2 and 4.
Module Indicative Content
Elastic and plastic deformation and failure criteria models for stress analysis. Finite element analysis theory and applications. Stress analysis using ANSYS: Meshing, element types, boundary conditions, post processing of results. Vibration and frequency analysis with ANSYS. Optimization methods. Nonlinear behaviour of materials.
