ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Coursework weighted at 100%.
A single 2500 word paper describing and analysing a proposal for the Thesis.
Demonstrates achievement of University of Staffs learning outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Learning on all aspects of the contents will be facilitated via a Virtual Learning Environment. Student centred learning.
In addition to University facilities, students will have access to RAF and MoD materials and appropriate subject matter experts.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. DEMONSTRATE A SYSTEMATIC UNDERSTANDING OF KNOWLEDGE WHICH IS AT THE FOREFRONT OF MILITARY AIRCRAFT TACTICS AND OPERATIONS.
2. DEMONSTRATE THE INDEPENDENT LEARNING ABILITY REQUIRED TO ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING, AND TO DEVELOP NEW SKILLS TO A HIGH LEVEL FOR CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
3. DEMONSTRATE A COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING AND CRITICAL EVALUATION OF METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES IN DEVELOPING NEW APPROACHES TO MILITARY AIR POWER AND, WHERE APPROPRIATE, PROPOSE NEW HYPOTHESES.
4. DEMONSTRATE A CRITICAL AWARENESS AND EVALUATION OF CURRENT WORK, CONTEMPORARY PROBLEMS AND/OR NEW INSIGHTS, MUCH OF WHICH IS AT, OR INFORMED BY, THE FOREFRONT OF MILITARY AIR POWER.
5. COMMUNICATE CONCLUSIONS CLEARLY TO SPECIALIST AND NON-SPECIALIST AUDIENCES.
