Module Indicative Content
This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the production process involved in specific genres of film/programme making. (Non-fiction and drama) You will be given an overview of the genres and practice elements of pre-production, production and post-production. You will be involved in a number of practical exercises and work in groups and individually to produce short `genre-specific' film/s / programme/s. (Non-fiction production and drama scriptwriting) You will explore the techniques and values of film/s/programme/s production. You will study the content and style of specific film/programme genres.

There will be a number of technical demonstrations in sound and video recording, editing and mixing. The learning experience will involve you extensively in researching and practicing production and this will require working individually and in teams. (Exploring specific job roles in a production and developing individual skills as a scriptwriter)

This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the production process involved in film making and the requirement of specific creative job roles and collaboration from concept to post production. You will further develop the basic production skills required in camera, sound and editing and the interdisciplinary skills of communication, organisation and planning, which are vital to a successful film/programme and the individual skills required of a scriptwriter.
